BIOGRAPHY
Adebisi is a public and health policy thought leader. He is a Policy Specialist with the Pandemic Sciences Institute (PSI), University of Oxford, where he works closely with the Science for Africa (SFA) Foundation based in Kenya on a Mastercard Foundation-funded project. The project known as the Epidemic Science Leadership and Innovation Networks (EPSILON) Initiative aims to nurture and promote world-class epidemic and pandemic sciences research and innovation in Africa. In this project, Adebisi is supporting researchers, innovators, and policymakers to accelerate the translation of research into policy and practice across the continent.
Before this, Adebisi was a Visiting Fellow (Ubuntu Fellowship) with the Policy and Practice Research Group, PSI. As a Fellow, he evaluated the appropriateness of the WHO research cycle framework in communicating high-consequence pathogens’ research priorities to policymakers. He also conducted background research and stakeholder mapping to inform the design and implementation of the policy elements of the EPSILON Initiative.
As a Management Consultant, Adebisi rapidly grew through the ranks to become an Engagement Manager with Sydani. He successfully led several projects including the National COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy study funded by US-CDC, targeted country assistance for health systems strengthening and COVID-19 delivery support funded by GAVI, project management support for the operationalisation of the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF) for the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) gateway and the piloting of Wristband for Immunization Alert (WIA) funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF).
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Adebisi was seconded to provide technical assistance to the Federal Government of Nigeria in the COVID-19 response as the Deputy Programs Manager (Policy and Strategy) for the COVID-19 vaccination Crisis Communication Centre (CRICC) at the NPHCDA. Before joining management consulting, Adebisi founded Lighthouse Global Health Initiative, a non-profit that envisions a world where vulnerable populations lead healthy and productive lives.
Adebisi studied for a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree at Obafemi Awolowo University and a Master of Public Health (Health Policy and Management) at the University of Ibadan. He did a Global Health Leadership Accelerator certificate program at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA. He is an alumnus of the Green Templeton College, where he got a Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree from the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, as an AfOx-Mastercard Foundation Graduate Scholar.
