Aida Abbashar is a Northern-Bridge Consortium scholar and a Ph.D. candidate at Durham University, specialising in the history of constitution-making in Sudan. Her prior roles include serving as a researcher at the LSE Middle East Centre and as a social policy advisor for sub-Saharan African governments at the Economic Policy Research Institute. Her scholarly interests extend to Sudanese political history and Horn of Africa politics, with a focus on exploring racialised and gendered discourses.
