BIOGRAPHY
President, Oxford Global Health Society and DPhil Candidate in Primary Health Care
Francis Ayomoh is a Public Health Physician and Health Systems Expert passionate about advancing universal health coverage and strengthening health systems across sub-Saharan Africa. He is a DPhil candidate in Primary Health Care at the University of Oxford, conducting research to improve task-shifting for maternal health services in Nigeria. He has worked in the Health Systems Strengthening Division at the Federal Ministry of Health in Nigeria and has supported the delivery of health systems interventions across Africa. Francis has an undergraduate degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Jos and holds an MSc (distinction) in Health Policy, Planning and Financing jointly awarded by the London School of Economics and Political Science and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
He is a Mandela Washington Fellow, Commonwealth Scholar, and Founder of the Oxford Global Health Society. He is also a member of the Nigeria Country Core Group of the Joint Learning Network for Universal Health Coverage. He is a fellow of the Missing Billions Initiative where he had been involved in global advocacy for Disability Inclusive Health Systems. His research interests include Primary Healthcare, Health Systems Strengthening, Health Economics, Health Policy and Financing, Maternal and Reproductive Health, Non-Communicable Diseases and Value-Based Healthcare.
